Working at Heights Refresher
Renew your CPO-approved Working at Heights Training for eligible workers who previously completed an approved program. Review critical fall-protection knowledge, refresh practical equipment skills, and revalidate your training for another three years.
Renew Your Working at Heights Training
Ontario workers on construction projects who use fall-protection systems are required to have valid Working at Heights training from a CPO-approved training provider. Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers about refresher eligibility, renewal periods, expired training, proof of previous training, and choosing an approved training provider.
Who is eligible to take Working at Heights Refresher training?
To be eligible for Working at Heights Refresher training in Ontario, you must have previously successfully completed both the Basic Theory and Practical modules of a CPO-approved Working at Heights program.
How often do I need to renew my Working at Heights training?
Working at Heights training is valid for three years from the date of successful completion. Completing an approved refresher course revalidates your training for another three years from the date you successfully complete the refresher.
Can I take the refresher course if my Working at Heights training has already expired?
You may still be eligible for refresher training if you previously completed both modules of an approved Working at Heights program. Once the three-year validity period has passed, however, your previous training is no longer valid until you successfully complete the refresher.
What if I lost my Working at Heights training card or certificate?
Losing your card does not automatically mean you need to retake the full course. Your previous approved Working at Heights training may be verified through Ontario training records. Contact StartSafe before your course if you are unable to locate your proof of previous training.
Do I need to take my Working at Heights Refresher with the same training provider?
No. You can complete refresher training with another CPO-approved Working at Heights training provider in Ontario, provided you meet the refresher eligibility requirements.
