This is a basic one-day course offering an overview of First Aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for the workplace or home. We explore the latest First Aid and CPR guidelines and meet OHS regulations for Basic First Aid. This course includes CPR Level C & AED (Automated External Defibrillation) Training.
Once this course is completed, participants are awarded a three year certification in Emergency First Aid, CPR Level A, C, or HCP and AED.
Workplaces with 1-5 employees must take this course.
Overview
During this course we will review and discuss the following topics.
Preparing to respond to an emergency
Recognizing a mental health emergency
CPR & AED for adults, children, and infants.
Bleeding and burn management
Breathing and Circulation emergencies.
First aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest.
Wound care.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Participants must wear appropriate clothing, as well as CSA-certified head, foot, and eye protection. We ask that you bring your own personal protective equipment (PPE) and that it is maintained and in good working order per the manufacturer’s specifications and regulatory requirements.
